Dolly was found dumped on waste ground. Carole had a phone call at midnight enquiring if the sanctuary would take Dolly in. Carole agreed to give Dolly a home, and after a night at a vets practice Dolly arrived at FARS. Dolly is cheeky and friendly and has quickly settled into life at FARS. Dolly loves playing in her paddling pool with her balls.

Ruby was a late and unexpected birth on a farm; the farmer brought Ruby to the gate and she became a resident here at FARS. She is now thriving and enjoys seeing visitors. Jimmy came to FARS in the same way – a farmer brought him to the gate after his foot got stuck in a fence. He was very ill and small, and needed two hourly feeds day and night. Of course Jimmy was welcomed to FARS. Jimmy and Ruby became friends and can often be seen together.

Here at the sanctuary we have around 15 chickens, but it is the gang of six who have been here the longest. Ginge is a typical ginger egg laying hen, with a lovely temperament. She was found walking down a road, and with no houses close-by she was brought here to
the sanctuary. Hetty is the biggest hen – she is a black Orpington and looks very fancy! The chickens’ favourite treats are corn on the cob, frozen peas and chopped curly kale!

Merrick arrived at the sanctuary in early 2019, alongside three other rams. He was very timid on arrival, but over the last couple of months his character has really come out. He will walk over to you when he is grazing in the field, and loves attention of the team and visitors!
He is one of the few sheep here at FARS who prefers cuddles and attention over biscuits!

Bart and Bruce came to the sanctuary separately, but are always together and always up to mischief.
Bart came in with another sheep called Binky, and Bruce came in as a lamb with his mom Sheila (who is often found in the blue shed). Bruce and Sheila were found abandoned and brought to the sanctuary by a kind member of the public.
Bart and bruce are two of the greediest sheep here, and will jump over any hurdle to get to food. They both love biscuits, and won’t let any other sheep stand in their way when they want some!

Nero was born in December 2018 and came to FARS in June 2019. He had been living in a council run working/petting farm. As a male dairy calf he was taken from his mother when he was only hours old. He was kept on display so that people could see him and stroke him. As Nero got older and was considered less “cute” he was moved to a pen at the back of the farm.
A frequent visitor was concerned as to his whereabouts and they asked the farm if they could re-home him. However, council policy dictated that he would have to be sent to auction. Luckily his case gained attention and a group of compassionate people purchased him and brought him to FARS. He can now be seen grazing with his new sheep friends who are getting more used to him every day.
When you adopt Nero, or any of our animals on the adoption list you will receive:

We would like to introduce you to the latest addition to the sanctuary – Nero!
Nero is the first calf at FARS and he is already settling in really well. He was rescued by two animal lovers from a petting farm where he would’ve been sent to slaughter very soon. We were able to give Nero a safe home with us.
A massive thank you to those wonderful people who rescued him, and a huge thank to the amazing Heather Mills who has kindly funded Nero’s food for the next 6 months. This wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you.
If you would like to donate to Nero’s upkeep here at his new home, you can visit our donate page or click the button below
The beginning of the month is always tough for the sanctuary. Most of our bills are scheduled to go out at this time. We also realise we ask so much from you all, but to continue the great work Carole and the team do at Woolly Park Farm, we are reliant on donations.
This is why we have created ‘A Little Becomes a Lot Monday.’
The first Monday of each month we are asking each and every one of you if you would kindly donate just a £1.00 to the sanctuary. Yes, you read it correctly £1.00!
We reckon this:
If 100 followers donated £1.00, this would raise £100. Our next month’s lamb’s milk is paid.
If 1000 followers donated £1.00 this would raise £1000. Our next month’s rent is paid.
If 2000 followers donated £1.00 this would raise £2000. Our next month’s rent is paid and 2 months feed.
If 3000 followers donated £1.00 this would raise £3000. Our next month’s rent is paid, 2 months feed and any vet bills.
If 4000 followers donated £1.00 this would raise £4000. Our next month’s rent is paid, 2 months feed, any vet bills and we could get started on the new goat and pig pens.
If you could spare £1.00 today (which is less than a cup of coffee) we would be extremely grateful. Please share with your animal loving friends and let’s see how much we can raise in 24 hours.

Sunshine mixed with the most fabulous, warm atmosphere helped to trigger a great Easter weekend fundraising and awareness event at Woolly Park Farm!
The first of its kind, in just over six weeks we managed to organise a marquee from Cotswold Marquees Ltd, asked the brilliant Face Painting by Sarah Jayne Creations to come along and use her ethical and vegan face paints to decorate the faces of kids and adults too, arrange with the amazing The Artisan vegan Catering company to come along and cater for us. Their food certainly didn’t disappoint and neither did their aprons! One of our own sanctuary volunteers Charlotte Chapman Photography also signed up to be the event’s official photographer.
Our own team worked effortlessly, not only pulling out all the stops to bring in raffle prizes and tombola prizes, but over the weekend taking on different roles to ensure the success of the event. A special thanks to Abi Malins who knocked on the doors of many local businesses at short notice to make sure our Easter Vegan Hamper and Pamper hamper had sufficient goodies. Thank you especially to Tesco, Waitrose, Body Shop, Lush & Marks and Spencer.
Thank you also to Sarah from Dekany Design for the beautiful decorations & posters, to Suzanne Evetts Florists for their gorgeous table decorations, Lorri from VEGAN Happy Clothing, not only for her kind contribution to FARS merchandise, tressle tables and POS, but for looking after our merchandise stand on Saturday too.
After deducting the necessary costs for the event we raised £1544.96 and a huge amount of AWARENESS and love for Carole Webb’s amazing work!
We would like to thank everyone who came along to FARS Warwickshire this weekend. Our strap-line was “ Pledge not to eat lamb this Easter. Instead spend sometime with our beautiful rescued babies!” It melts our hearts that tickets sold out for both days. We would like to apologise to those who missed out because of this, but the event will be back again in September. Please keep an eye out for details. Tickets will go on sale very soon!
It’s that time of year. Lambing season. It’s a harrowing thought to think most of these precious little babies will not live to see their first birthday. Born in the spring, wrenched from their mummies and sent to the abattoir for slaughter.
A few of these innocent creatures are fortunate to be brought to Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary. Generally, they have slight defects, such as wonky legs, blindness, or maybe premature (not expected to survive). But these are the lucky lambs, who could live well into their teens!
This year though, we have two little fighters, who have much more than a slight defect.
Meet Little Larry, bright as a button, but has sadly been diagnosed with spina bifida. We want to give this little baby boy every chance and although an operation is possible, it will have no effect. We have been advised though that Little Larry has the strength to use a wheeled cart. This will then enable him to walk.
We cannot determine how many years little Larry will be blessed with, no one knows, but isn’t it right that all lives are precious?
Meet Little Johnny, again a plucky little fellow. His leg is so severely broken, the only option left available to us to ensure he survives and has a quality of life, is amputation. His operation was quickly scheduled, and was a huge success!
These two little fighters will obviously need extra care, attention and medication. If you could donate to Little Larry & Little Johnny’s Appeal, no matter how small, it will help Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary with the additional costs required.
Thank you so much for your love and support for Little Larry and Little Johnny. You can make a one-off donation in several ways, via our PayPal link below, by donating direct into our bank account – (HSBC 40-24-45, account number 40009830) or by sending a cheque made payable to Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary. https://www.youtube.com/embed/0dFB7kygr3sA few weeks ago, a ewe was brought to the sanctuary. She was in such poor condition and extremely thin. Obviously malnourished and in desperate need of treatment, Carole and the team began the slow process of healing this poor sentient being. Naming her Daffodil, after a few days of TLC, food and veterinary care, she began to venture out with the rest of the rescued sheep to graze. A sudden panic rushed over one of our volunteers when she noticed Daffodil had collapsed in the field. The team feared the worst and rushed out to carry her back to the barn. Carole and the team did everything they could, while calling for the sanctuary’s vet.
Just a few hours later though, everyone at Woolly Park Farm had such a surprise. Daffodil gave birth to a baby lamb. No one could have predicted such an outcome. Daffodil had arrived at Woolly Park Farm in a very bad way, but also carrying a lamb that no one knew about. Neither would have survived if Daffodil hadn’t been brought to the sanctuary.
It’s been touch and go for mother and her child named Bambi, but we are hoping both will now continue to thrive. This is why Carole and her small team need to continue their amazing work. Abused and unwanted farm animals like Daffodil and Bambi desperately need FARS Warwickshire.
If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, please do – and thank you so much for your continued support!
Hi FARS Team, welcome to our new members section of the website. This section is password protected and enables the admin team to stay connected with you all, without bombarding you with countless emails.
Firstly to say a HUGE thank you for all your efforts, support and love for Carole Webb and all our rescued animals at Woolly Park Farm. It is truly appreciated!
EASTER WEEKEND – is our official opening weekend for visitors this year. We are opening the sanctuary’s gates on Easter Saturday 20th April and Easter Sunday 21st April from 12.00pm until 4.00pm each day.
We need as many helpers on these two days as we can. If you can help Saturday and Sunday, or just one of the days we would be really grateful. We also need plenty of raffle prizes, tombola prizes, vegan food and wine for our Easter Vegan Hamper and Vegan skincare/body products for our Vegan Pamper Hamper too. We require over the two days the loan of at least 4 trestle tables ( ones used at car-boot sales) and plastic outdoor chairs too. If anyone also has access to a mic and amp that we could loan, this would be fantastic.
Here is a list of what we need help with over the two days and lead up to the event. If you feel you are able to help out, please comment below the post and let us know what you would like to get involved with. Thank you so much and hopefully look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the event.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/SgO4xgjCEnIThis week we welcomed two new piggies to the FARS family – ‘Little’ George and Penny! Due to illness, the owner of their previous sanctuary had to downsize. It was a heart-breaking decision for her to make, but now they have found a forever home with us. Come and meet them at our open day April 20th – 21st, or donate towards their upkeep.
It was a very wet and windy evening in Stratford on Saturday. That didn’t stop many of our supporters from joining us at our first event of the year.
Taking place at the new vegan/vegetarian café Plantarium, it was a completely different atmosphere in the venue. A few hours of warmth and love for both our founder Carole Webb and the thirty-year-old sanctuary she dedicates her life to. And although Carole couldn’t make the evening in person, technology allowed her to say a few words of thanks to everyone there!
We raised a fantastic £328.80 through raffle tickets, donations etc. Having already had a successful volunteer recruitment drive in Jan, we added even more enthusiastic helpers to the FARS list. We raised awareness to Carole’s story, and promoted our Easter weekend event too!
A HUGE thank you to Jacek, Magda and everyone at Plantarium for all your help and support, we certainly couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you also to our wonderful team for helping and supporting the event. Lastly to everyone who braced the awful weather to be with us, we truly appreciate it! THANK YOU! X
Our ‘For the Love of Larry’ crowdfunding appeal has now closed and although we didn’t quite make our 10k target, we raised a lot of money because of YOU! Our crowdfunding total was £3050, but adding to the equation the PayPal donations, bank payments and cheques, with your help we raised over 5K! FARS Warwickshire is not out of the woods yet, but we are certainly seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. We would also like to say a HUGE big thank you to Friends of the AnimalsPHB Ethical BeautyNetwork for AnimalsVegan CakeryVEGAN Happy ClothingPlantarium and Milo’s Mission for their ongoing support and kindness For Carole and her small team to continue caring and healing rescued farm animals is paramount to lambs such as Stevie. When she arrived at the sanctuary, Stevie was extremely poorly. One eye had been completely pecked out, while the other was in a very bad way. But look at her now. She is a very happy, contented and loved lamb, who will live out her natural life at Woolly Park Farm It’s with your continued love and support FARS can continue looking after farm animals just like Stevie. NEW – The lovely trio – Nibbles, Squiggles & Toodles
Nibbles, Squiggles and Toodles were only 4 weeks old when they arrived at a school farm in March 2016. They were originally on loan for educational purposes, being bottle fed by the children. Once they were ready to go out to grass, the lovely trio were supposed to be returned to the farmer. Thing was, their owners fell head over heels in love with them. We can understand why – they were such cuties!
Toodles has the black face. She is the only female, but with the deepest baa!
Nibbles has the patchy face. He’s the most affectionate and will love to get close to you if he can.
Squiggles has the plain face and is the largest of the three.
They are all much bigger now, but still very loving. They do like biscuit treats, so if you decide to adopt and visit, please don’t forget to bring some with you!
When you adopt Nibbles, Squiggles & Toodles, or any of our animals on the adoption list you will receive

Can you help save seventy-five year old woman’s animal rescue sanctuary from closure after 30 Years!
It was in 1988 when the first seedlings of Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary were sown. Carole had heard about a very poorly new-born lamb at a local farm close by where she lived in Hertfordshire. The lamb wasn’t expected to survive. Carole asked the farmer if she could adopt him. The farmer agreed. Naming him Larry, Carole took him home to hand rear. Larry was her first success, but he certainly wasn’t the last. Next came premature lamb triplets, who she named the Didley family. All three had to be syringe fed every few hours, and just like Larry they thrived.
By 1992, Carole’s flock of animals had grown considerably, and she had to relocate the sanctuary to Cambridgeshire. Carole bought a house with some land in a small village called Fen Drayton, but eventually she was caring for over 800 rescued animals. Realising the sanctuary had outgrown these premises too, it wasn’t long before the sanctuary was on the move once again. Carole made the decision to sell the property, and in 1999 she moved Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary (FARS) back to Hertfordshire. The small amount of money Carole had made from the sale of the property, she put back into the sanctuary. All Carole wanted to do was make a difference for the lives of as many farm animals as she could.
It was at this time Carole also made the decision to reduce her own living costs in order to supplement the sanctuary. She gave up the luxury of bricks and mortar, choosing to live in a mobile home on a site with some land for her rescued animals. It wasn’t a great move though for the sanctuary. In the short time they were there, continued vandalism caused numerous problems and made life extremely difficult.
At 75, Carole Webb, a former veterinary nurse, has had her fair share of personal heartache too. This is what makes her story even more inspirational. Carole’s 32-year-old disabled daughter named Melanie, sadly died of a heart attack in her arms. If this wasn’t devastating enough, Carole’s mother also passed away shortly afterwards, losing her brave battle with breast cancer. But although Carole’s life had been ripped apart, this was when she also realised her true vocation. To rescue, protect, heal and care for unwanted farm animals.
Last year Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary celebrated 30 years. From Carole’s first adoptee Larry, she has achieved so much. But it was in November 2018, when Carole also reached out to me. My name is Sharon Bull and I work as an inspirational speaker and writer. Mental health awareness, children (particularly the
Carole bottle feeding Little Peggy 2017
disadvantaged and vulnerable) and animal welfare are at the heart of everything I do. I have been a strong supporter of FARS since my first visit in 2015.
Over the years Carole and the sanctuary have always relied on trusted volunteers, but recently she has been heavily let down. Knowing my marketing and sales background, Carole asked me if I could help raise the sanctuary’s profile and much needed funds.
Over the past two months, with the help of Jayne Tutt (financial administrator) we have achieved so much. We have now doubled the volunteer support, adding more generosity and talent to a small but extremely caring team. With a tight administration system, a new website, a more inviting adoption/sponsor campaign and a much stronger social media platform, a silver lining is on the horizon. But the sanctuary’s accounts were left in a much-depleted state, so December 2018 our focus was to simply make the most of the festive season. Pulling together some swift promotional activity, we managed to raise a substantial amount of money over the month.
We are still a relatively small team, but determined to turn the sanctuary around together, so that Carole and the rescued animals can have the financial stability they so deserve. With the rising cost of hay (feed) and the continued maintenance of the sanctuary’s buildings, this is not going to be easy.
We have many ideas, short term/long term goals and a 5-year plan in place, but we need to keep the sanctuary’s head above water over the next couple of months. Can you please help us to achieve this by donating to our ‘For the Love of Larry’ campaign here.
Gorgeous George is a firm favourite at Woolly Park
George arrived at Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary in 2014, a few weeks before Christmas, after being found by a couple wandering in the middle of a road. Space was tight at Woolly Park Farm, but although Carole tried to find him a home elsewhere, no one seemed to be able to accommodate him. It was soon decided the young piglet, just a few weeks old would reside at Woolly Park Farm with Carole. Bottle feeds, tummy tickles and wallowing in mud, George soon developed a great character and is one of the firm favourites on our adoption list.
eorge has his own purpose-built home to keep warm in the winter and shade him in the summer, a muddy wallow and loves apples.

A plucky three-legged lamb who had to have one of his hind legs amputated after being attacked in a local field by a dog or a fox. He was brought to Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary in 2016 by a local vet – The Ark Veterinary Practice, and despite his handicap, Rodders is a happy and lively lamb. He has settled down well at Woolly Park Farm, where he quickly made friends with fellow new arrivals Barney and Splash. Rodney does not let his disability hold him back and gets around very easily on his three legs.
Rodney’s story told by The Ark Veterinary Practice where he was taken on the 23rd February 2016 by two members of the public, who found him injured on their walk.
When he came to us we had the task of clipping away his wool to find the wounds, some were so deep and sore they were even down to the bone. His worst wound was to his hind right leg and bites to his stomach and his back. We cleaned his injuries up as best we could, some so deep they needed staples and he was given antibiotics and painkillers. Rodney became the practice lamb. For the next few days following his arrival he seemed to be on the mend, more confident with walking and bleating for food. We bottle fed him, kept him on medicines for his wounds, cleaning them daily and taking him for walks in the garden for exercise and grass. However, as the days went on Rodney started to go downhill and wasn’t his happy self.
His hind leg became worse and he couldn’t bear weight on it. An infection had started in the bone and was so painful, Rodney couldn’t use his leg so we had a decision to make. We had fallen in love with Rodney and wanted to give him every opportunity. Two weeks after he arrived, Rodney had surgery to remove his leg. The surgery was a success and after three days and some help from the team Rodney was back up on his feet. A little wobbly but he was up! He stayed with us until he was stronger, then nurse Vikki took him to be with other lambs at her farm. He was able to learn to walk on three legs and be with his own kind.
Eventually Rodney was strong enough and ready to find his forever home. He is now happy and forever with over 400 other rescued animals at Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary.
